Inspections

Carrying out inspections based on applicable laws is, currently, one of IEP’s main activities. Over the years IEP has garnered certifications and accreditations that make it one of today’s largest national inspection facilities, in terms of coverage and inspections carried out as well as the number of staff dedicated to the inspection area.

IEP is accredited by the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology as an Inspection Entity for Electrical Facilities, an Inspection Entity for Lift Appliances and Inspection Entity for Gas Installations. All these sectors are also accredited by the Portuguese Accreditation Institute (IPAC), according to the NP EN ISO 17020 Standard. IEP is also a Lifts Directive notified body.
