In the field of electrical installations, IEP works on a wide range of activities, including inspections of electrical facilities, self-consumption system audits (inspection of implementation and installation of photovoltaic systems), metering system audits (validation of meters and ensuring communications are operational), measuring ground resistance, potential gradient, ground continuity and resistance, as well as issuing technical reports on electricity, including analyses of electrical facilities design projects.
In the regulatory area, specifically, as part of the electrical installations regime, as published in Decree-Law No. 96/2017 of August 10, and as an Inspection Entity for Electrical Installations, IEP conducts inspections of Type A and Type C electrical installations.
IEP has built a specific website for Electrical Inspections to submit inspection requests with automatic payments simply and effectively.

The IEP is accredited by the Portuguese Institute of Accreditation (IPAC) as an Inspection Body for Pressure Equipment (ESP) and Simple Pressure Vessels (RSPS), to carry out in-service inspections under Decree-Law No. 131/2019 of 30 August, and its Supplementary Technical Instructions (ITC).

It carries out initial, regular, extraordinary and other inspections of gas installations, under the terms of the gas installations regime, published in Decree-Law No. 97/2017 of August 10.

As a Notified Body, IEP assesses the compliance of lifts, with a view to their going into operation under Directive 2014/33/EU.

IEP provides UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) remote inspection services. These consist of visual and thermographic inspections, with georeferencing identification, along with photographic and/or video records and subsequent analysis of any anomalies found. This service is extremely advantageous, as it allows inspections of hard-to-reach places or very large sites.

IEP has extensive technical, standardization and regulatory experience within the electrical, telecommunications, and infrastructure sectors.
