Service life extension of wind turbines

DESCRIPTION:
Many wind turbines all over the world are reaching the end of their service life. In this situation, they are dismantled or, alternatively, a technical justification is found to extend their service life, ensuring they continue to operate safely.

PROBLEM:
How to ensure that by the end of the expected service life (20 years), a wind turbine can run for a further N number of years?

APPROACH:
Development of auditing, inspection and testing tools with reduced levels of intrusion that allow for a thorough assessment of the equipment’s state of repair.

CONCLUSION:
Find criteria that make it possible to safely extend the service life of a given wind turbine.
