Assessing eCall compliance in emergency number PSAP.
DESCRIPTION:
eCall – Automatic emergency call system that relays information on the type of vehicle in the accident, the number of passengers and their location.
PROBLEM:
How to ensure that all emergency number PSAPs correctly handle an eCall?
APPROACH:
Development of assessment criteria, methods and measurements to validate whether a particular Public-Safety Answering Point (PSAP) is able to handle eCall emergency calls properly.
CONCLUSION:
Portugal was the third country in the EU to ensure eCall compliance for its emergency number’s PSAPs.
